How to build a bridge
- Drag between two grid points to lay a piece. Click a piece to take it away again, or Backspace to undo the last one.
- Road is what the van drives on. It is heavier and dearer, and it is the part that tears when a span has nothing holding it up.
- Beam carries far more load but cannot be driven on. This is the whole game: put the beams where the force goes.
- Amber pieces are working hard. Red ones are about to let go.
- A flat deck on its own will not do it. The deck has to carry everything in tension, and it is not strong enough — that is what the beams are for.
- Every crossing has a number, and its link goes back to that exact gap.
